The TV presenter, mental-health ambassador and designer behind a new Mini Club range on the things that make her smile
I’m never sad when they’re around. My son Rex’s favourite is lemon cake, so we’ve been trying out variations, such as adding ground almonds and coconut yogurt. Yum.
‘Rocket Man’ by Elton John
It’s been played during the best times in my life – at my wedding and the birth of both my children (Rex, 4, and Honey, 2).
My first thought of the day is: ‘How quickly can I make it and drink it?’ (Shortly followed by thoughts of how beautiful my tots’ faces are, of course…)
Helping people who are feeling down
Always remember: you’re never alone and you will get out of that slump. Just keep focusing on simple pleasures: the little things in life, such as fresh air, laughter and real-life conversations. They give the biggest lifts.
The things my kids do and say
Rex styles my hair and says, ‘Mummy, you’re my princess.’ Honey teams every outfit with a pinny, hula necklace and sunnies (even indoors!). She’ll love the furry coat in my range – she strokes mine and says, ‘Cat, cat!’
Having a proper phone call
I’ll ring my mum if I need to get perspective – she has a ‘tough love’ approach that never fails to help.
The more ‘happy messages’ in the world, the better, so I’ve included them on T-shirts in my range, shown above: Happy Fun and always Awesome Tee (2yrs) and Be Happy and Amazing (2 yrs) Boots Exclusive both £8/800 points each (available in 9mths-6yrs). If I could only teach my kids one thing, it would be to find joy in everything.
Fearne’s Mini Club range is available in selected stores and online.
