‘We've the latest gift ideas and hot looks to see you through the party season, plus your chance to win cult products that will help you sleep soundly’ Helen Daly, Editor
In the gifting groove? Don’t forget, you deserve a treat, too. Top of our gift-to-self list is this luxe lipstick, YSL Rouge Pur Couture Dazzling Lights Edition in 1 Le Rouge*, £28/2,800 points – it’s fit for any festive occasion. Now where’s the mistletoe…
Optometrist at Boots Opticians, Samantha Watson, answers your most pressing contact lens questions in time for the party season:
Q. I want to go glasses-free for a festive do, but how do I know if contacts are suitable for me?
‘Almost anyone can wear contact lenses. There are many options to suit different prescriptions and lifestyles. You can book a free contact lens trial at boots.com/book†.’
Q. I can still wear sparkly eye make-up, right?
‘Yes, but always put your lenses in before applying make-up, and opt for oil- and fragrance-free eyeshadows, as they’re less likely to aggravate your peepers. Also, avoid false lashes, as the glue is an irritant.’
Replacing cleavage, leg and tummy (*breathes a sigh of relief*), shoulders are officially in (or should that be out?) as the new it-zone to flash at parties. Just look at the raft of A-listers (above) who opted for the off-the-shoulder or one-shoulder trends at awards ceremonies and film premieres in 2017. And with just a sweep of Vita Liberata Ten Minute Tan*, £30/3,000 points (150ml), using the Soltan Beautiful Bronze Self-Tan Back Applicator*,£5.99/599 points, to get those hard-to-reach bits glowing, it’s easy to look amazing in next to no time. Sold!
Having a good reason to get up in the morning helps you nod off quicker, say scientists. So maybe that’s why we get a restful night’s sleep when we have a Christmas party to look forward to! But on those occasions when you need a helping hand, consider Pukka Night Time Herbal Tea Sachets*, £1.91/191 points (20 sachets), as they contain lavender, which can help you wind down.
